Procurement insights and the story behind ePro

When we first set out to build ePro, the name came naturally. It’s short for eProcurement,  because at its heart, that’s exactly what the system was designed to do. Not just another ordering portal, but a tool to help businesses bring structure, control, and clarity into their procurement processes.

Over the years, we’ve seen just how valuable this approach can be. Procurement in many businesses is still far too loose. Staff buy the wrong products, overspend, or duplicate orders because there isn’t enough visibility. The result? Wasted money, wasted time, and frustrated teams.

That’s where eProcurement insights come in. By adopting a system like ePro, companies can:

  • Gain better spend control: set budgets at branch or employee level so money is spent wisely.

  • Buy the right products: limit ordering to approved items, so teams get exactly what they need without the waste.

  • Use approval structures: make sure higher-value or sensitive purchases are checked before going through.

  • Track orders easily: see at a glance what has been ordered, what’s pending approval, and what’s still waiting to be fulfilled.

One of our customers put this into practice recently. Before using ePro, their procurement was a mix of emails, spreadsheets, and chasing suppliers. Now, they have real oversight. Managers can log in and instantly see who’s ordering what, which budgets are being used, and where approvals are needed. Their teams are empowered to order what they need, but only within the limits that make sense for the business.

That’s the balance we always aimed for when we first named ePro: giving businesses freedom where it helps, and control where it matters.

If you’re looking at ways to tighten up spend, reduce waste, and keep your procurement simple but effective, eProcurement insights are a great place to start.
